Gonorrhoea sexual transmitted disease
Another STD (sexual transmitted disease) is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, simple called Gonorrhoea. Neisseria is a bacteria that love moist, warm parts of the human body, that’s why it can be usually found in cervix, mouth, urethra or rectum. Gonnorhoea is most commonly spread during sexual unprotected relationships or any genital, oral or anal contact. There is a bigger risk of infection for people that have multiple partners, homosexuals, people that don’t practice safe sex.
At women, it can affect the fertility and also can pass from mother to the unborn child during delivery, producing blindness.
It affects all ages, but is usually met at younger people, between 15 and 25 years old.
The bacteria multiplies very quickly, so the first symptoms appear within 3 to 10 days after the contact with an infected partner, although, in some cases, the patient can be infected for several months, without to present any symptoms. The first stage is usually mild, but if the disease develops, it can bring serious trouble.
At the first symptom, man has to consult a doctor, and not to try to cure for himself. So, if he is accusing:
- - a burning sensation during urination
- - a drain of a white substance from the penis
- - an itching, discharge or pain around the rectal area
it is clear that there are many changes to be infected with Gonorrhoea.
By simply visiting a doctor, bacteria can be detected and the treatment have many chances to solve the problem. Doctor will prescribe antibiotics that contains ofloxacin , prevents the reproducing and growth of the bacteria in the human body. The treatment should be administrated to the patient’s partner too and both of them should continue the tests even when the treatment has ended.
If the disease is not treated, it can develop into an inflammation of the epididymis- a glandular tube that stores the sperm.
In rare cases, bacteria can be dispersed to the entire body because of blood circulation. That goes to rashes, high temperature, shivering, sometimes cerebrospinal meningitis or even inflammation of the heart.
The simple usage of condom can spare from many unpleasant and painful situations.
